Elkhorn Village School

Below you will find a link for our Elkhorn AVID facebook page.  As one of the AVID co-coordinator for our school, I am so proud of our students and our program.  We are the only K-8 school in the district certified by AVID center.  In 2015 we were designated a Highly Certified Site. Our students work hard to develop the skills to make them successful students here at Elkhorn, and in high school, and beyond: at college and with their careers.

Introducing...... Mrs. Erickson

I have taught in West Sacramento for the past 23 years.  I am starting my 9th year here at Elkhorn Village. I started at Golden State Middle School.  I grew up on the east coast, outside of Philadelphia and moved to California in 1982.  I moved to Sacramento in 1986 to attend Sac State and stayed.  I love the changing colors of fall, and the blooming flowers of spring.

Getting to know Mrs. Erickson

In the slideshow below you will see a variety of pictures about me and my family

My mom, myself and my daughters are very involved in Girl Scouts and have been for over 30 years.

My daughters took pictures for my Christmas present

The first 8th grade AVID class promoted from Elkhorn in 2010 and graduated from high school in 2014.

What will my student do in Mrs. Erickson's PE class?

I am a Physical Education teacher who requires her students to write, analyze, evaluate, set goals, track progress, do math, work cooperatively with others, demonstrate respect for themselves and others, take responsibility for their own behavior, to be physically active, and so much more.  Some of the units we will do include: volleyball, line dance, hockey, games, nutrition and fitness.  I will work with any student who asks for help.  I value the communication between parent and teacher.  I expect my students to try their best in my class, to participate to the best of their abilities and to have fun.
