Elkhorn Village staff wants to ensure that all students are provided a safe learning environment.
In order to ensure this, all students are required to follow the school-wide discipline policy. We believe that students need to be in the classroom, fully engaged and actively participating in their learning. Elkhorn teachers have in place a behavior management policy in their classrooms. Their policy is a preventative policy. Structures, routines, and procedures are in place in order to promote positive behavior in all classrooms.
Each teacher also has in place a step system for redirecting negative behavior. If a student does not correct behavior, the teacher may then fill out an office referral form and send the student to the office for further action. Also, if the student commits a serious act which is a clear violation of Ed Code policy, he or she shall be sent to the office immediately for further action.
